Following the extraordinary Beethoven 32-Sonata Cycle in 2017, pianist Konstantin Lifschitz returned to HKU alongside fellow pianist Alexei Volodin. Having known each other since their childhood days at Moscow's Gnessin Academy under the legendary Tatiana Zelikman, their shared musical grounding shaped a thoughtfully curated series that reflects the breadth and richness of the Russian pianistic tradition.

The series brought together a diverse spectrum of works, which includes Medtner's ethereal Fairy Tales, Mussorgsky's stately Pictures at an Exhibition, Prokofiev's picturesque Three Pieces for Piano, Rachmaninov's sweeping 24 Preludes, and Stravinsky's idiosyncratic The Rite of Spring, among other works. Showcasing both solo and two-piano repertoire, the two internationally celebrated pianists unveiled these Russian gems across four concerts.

四場音樂盛宴曲目涵蓋麥哲納空靈飄緲的《神話》、穆索斯基充滿意象的《圖畫展覽會》、浦羅哥菲夫的《三首鋼琴小品》，以至全套拉赫曼尼諾夫24首前奏曲及史特拉汶斯基的《春之祭》。兩位享負盛名的鋼琴家穿梭於獨奏與雙鋼琴曲目之間，展現俄羅斯鋼琴經典的多元面貌。
