Revered as the 'Old Testament' of piano repertoire, The Well-Tempered Clavier by J.S. Bach laid the backbone of classical chromaticism, revealing the full-colour spectrum of all 24 major and minor keys. Various schools of composers have religiously studied and drawn inspiration from the preludes and fugues, so have generations of keyboardists who performed and recorded the set. Amongst them is Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, described by Gramophone as "today's finest exponent of Bach's keyboard music".

In two concerts, Hewitt performed all 48 preludes and fugues from both books of The Well-Tempered Clavier with her signature clarity and dexterity. Two 'Music in Words' talks accompanied the performances, offering further insight and context for the music.

巴赫恢宏的《平均律鍵盤曲集》奠定了古典音樂十二平均律的基礎，展現出全部24個大小調的豐富音色，被譽為鋼琴音樂中的「舊約聖經」。兩冊共48首前奏曲與賦格歷年來被不同流派的作曲家奉為靈感泉源，演奏及錄製此套作品的鍵盤演奏家不計其數。加拿大鋼琴家休伊特正是其中之一，《留聲機》更讚譽她為「當今最出色的巴赫鍵盤音樂詮釋者」。

休伊特以一貫清晰而靈巧的風格，於兩場音樂會中為香港觀眾完整呈獻《平均律鍵盤曲集》上下兩冊。演出亦附設兩場「樂語融融」講座，讓觀眾對音樂有更透徹的理解。
