A programme of Back to Bach Series
German violin virtuoso Antje Weithaas is acclaimed worldwide for her musical insight and technical mastery. Recently named the OPUS Klassik 2025 “Instrumentalist of the Year”, her distinguished career spans over three decades, launched by First Prizes at the Kreisler, Bach Leipzig, and Joseph Joachim Hannover Competitions. Beyond the stage, she is a dedicated mentor who has shaped a generation of leading violinists, including Paganini winner Ning Feng and Joachim winner Seiji Okamoto.
In March 2027, Weithaas makes her Hong Kong debut with one of the supreme achievements of the violin repertoire: J.S. Bach’s complete Sonatas and Partitas, performed in a single three-hour evening. Globally revered for her recordings of these works, she offers Hong Kong audiences a rare chance to experience a tour de force that reveals the violin in its most intimate and transcendent form.
