Celebrated pianist Makoto Ozone makes his Hong Kong recital debut. Known for moving fluently between jazz and classical music, he has built a wide-ranging career as a performer, composer, and collaborator. He has released more than 30 albums and written over 300 works, and partnered with jazz greats such as Chick Corea and Paquito D’Rivera. In collaboration with Gary Burton, his Grammy-nominated album Virtuosi showcases his elegance and virtuosity.

Ozone is also an active classical pianist who has appeared with major orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester. He brings both clarity and improvisatory freedom to his performances across genres.

His debut programme at HKU MUSE features works by Ravel, Prokofiev, Moszkowski, Chopin, and Scarlatti, alongside an arrangement from Gershwin’s Piano Concerto. His own compositions complete the recital, offering audiences a window into the creativity that defines his international career.
