Blending artistry and scholarship, the 'Music in Words' series features thought‑provoking dialogues between MUSE artists, visiting musicians, and scholars from HKU’s Department of Music, creating a vibrant meeting point between performance and conversation. These discussions explore the context and nuances of the music to be performed—from its inspiration and historical roots to interpretative and technical approaches of the performers, and its place in their own artistic journey. Beyond the works, the audience also gains insight into the speakers' personal stories, philosophies and visions.
Select 'Music in Words' editions are recorded and made available online as videos with bilingual subtitles, as well as via podcast platforms accompanies with curated playlists.
